We visited Denmark from the UK in autumn 2013. We chose a DanCenter cottage near Lake Mosso where we were taking part in a kayaking event. The cottage was in a disgraceful condition - dirty beds, filthy windows, stained mattresses and pillows, sheets with holes, broken glass in the living area, unemptied bathroom bin... and it stank, the previous tenants had left a bin full of rotting fish intestines at the door. The couple who lived in the house next door visited to say how sorry they were for us. When we tried to contact DanCenter on their "emergency" number they failed to respond. The cottage was uninhabitable and we had to find alternative accommodation. Dancenter have since taken no responsibility for their exceptionally poor service. The board of appeal's verdict was absurd (and long delayed) - their only comment was that we had returned the key and thereby ended the contract with DanCenter without giving them the opportunity to rectify the faults. They found no fault with DanCenter for presenting a cottage in such a disgraceful condition and for failing to respond to our request for help in a reasonable time.

We have traveled widely in Europe and beyond. This is the worst example of service from a holiday letting agency we have experienced.
